Spring Break and Weekend Update with Baby Mama Gibson

Well Spring Break flew by yet again…I had a great time with my family and being able to rest.  All I could think about is “at this time next year I will be toting around my little mini-me.” So exciting…and scary!

Pop Pop Gibson and the Hubs got a great start to painting the nursery which makes Mama very happy.  (Then Auntie KK can start decorating!) Chase thought this was a very special occasion, hence the tuxedo t-shirt. ßsee link; it describes our feelings exactly.

On Thursday, Marmee, Emmy, Cole and I took Eva Kate to Sweet and Sassy for her 4th birthday! Then her and Cole did a little photo shoot around the mall..cheeseballs!

The week ended with an AMAZING golf tournament put on by our crew to raise money for breast cancer! It was such a fun day (even without beer for me!) and we were able to make a great donation!

How Far Along: Finishing up 23 weeks; "baby girl the size of grapefruit" (All of a sudden their comparisons are getting smaller...so I am guessing she is bigger than a grapefruit.)
Maternity Clothes:  Cotton skirts, some maternity tops, some “tight” regular tops that I ROCK.
Sleep: I can fall asleep fine (as long as I have not had liquid within the past hour or 5), but getting back to sleep is not going well. I cannot shut this brain off! And WEIRD dreams....
Memorable Moments: Chase felt her kick for the first time!
Miss Anything: The option of having Sushi, Frozen Margaritas and COLD Mexican Beer
Movement:  Hers just so busy! (Except when my family wants to feel her!)
Food Cravings: Cold fruit, muffins, hot decaf tea in the morning, cereal
Anything making me sick or nauseas: not a thing due to Spring Break!
Gender: Gibby Gul
Labor Signs:  Check back with me in June-ish
Symptoms:  Weather is changing, so allergies out the wa-zoo, semi-swollen feet at the end of the day
Belly Button: Any. Day. Now.
Wedding Rings: On, but not all at the same time.
Happy or Moody: ANNOYED WITH EVERYTHING. I mean EVERYTHING. I have to remind myself “Sarah, change your attitude.”
Looking Forward To:  Hunger Games movie on Friday and starting to decorate the nursery!
Best Comment This Week: "Are you sure there is just 1 baby in there?!"

Decision 2012

Her actual FIRST name wasn’t the hard part….

-The Spelling
-The Middle Name
-The Abbreviated Middle Name
-The Initials (And What They Would Spell)
-Listing all possible nicknames (Good and Bad-which got pretty entertaining!)

Let me address some of the issues above:

The Spelling: No, not Tori. (Even though I LOVE HER.) I wanted her name to end in an “h” like mine of course. Husband thought everyone would spell it wrong. Well, people spell my name wrong and I get over it. (Hell, my maiden name was always fun to spell!)

The Middle Name: I wanted it the same as my middle name. (Of course, again.) But, the husband’s “legal” name is also a family name on my side, so we were back and forth for awhile. My oldest sister and I share a middle name, (creative Marmee and Grumpy!), but the middle sister shares with Mom, so it was not hard for me to change it because I didn’t want Auntie KK to feel left out.

The Abbreviated Middle Name: I thought of maybe using the last part of my middle name, which is still a really cute name. Sometimes I would practice “getting on to her” and say her name really fast. It sounded good. Really good…BUT, we weren’t in love with it.

The Initials: Ehh…they spell a word, they don’t spell a word. All I care about is if the monogram looks cute.

Nicknames: Hers, Nice Girl, GibbyGul, Dora, Aurora, Mi Amora…she doesn’t stand a chance.

So…here it is!

Norah (with an H) Francis (after Hubby and My Aunt) Gibson

Love it or Hate it, see my previous blog about “diarrhea of the mouth”....

*Got another good one today: “Wow, you look really pregnant today!” “Good, because I am really pregnant!”)

We have loved this name for so long and are so excited to welcome baby girl July 2012!

Sh*t People Say to Pregnant Women (Me) That Causes the Stink Eye

I am not quite sure when the “diarrhea of the mouth virus” started going around this season. I am guessing about my fourth month when this belly popped out.  One of the posters in my classroom says “Before you Speak, THINK.” I know, I am one to talk about the inappropriate comment or two (or ten) but NEVER to an emotional, hormonal pregnant woman. Here are some of the good ones so far:

“Oh my goodness! You are carrying so high! That means all of your stretch marks will be up here!” (While this person is touching my belly.)

“Is that top maternity? Oh, regular? Just really tight?”

“Whoa! You are going to have one big baby girl!”

“Wow-by the end of the school year you are going to need some large t-shirts!”

Come on ladies. Work with me here! Thank the good lord I have the best fake laugh ever and a semi-believable smile.

 The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: Finishing up 21 weeks-baby girl is the size of a papaya!
Maternity Clothes: Belly Bands with work pants, breezy maternity tops and “really tight regular tops”
Sleep: Hardcore
Memorable Moments: A great girl’s dinner Saturday night! *Love having the girls give me lots-o-advice about the hospital/delivery* Next time I will be taking notes so I can tell the nurses “Yes I can! My friends said!”
Miss Anything: The option of having certain Sushi, Frozen Margaritas and COLD Mexican Beer
Movement: I got an awesome wake up call Saturday morning. She is so much more active on the weekends-or I just notice it more! I had a cherry coke Saturday at lunch and it really got her going in there.
Food Cravings: STRAWBERRIES, muffins, hot decaf tea in the morning
Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallway at school
Gender: My sweet Dora Aurora Mi Amora
Labor Signs: Still just the housework…
Symptoms: Sleepy. Hungry. Belly-licious.
Belly Button: In-ish
Wedding Rings: On, but not all at the same time.
Happy or Moody: Depends on my location and activities at the time. Sleeping: Happy. Eating: pretty happy.
Looking Forward To: SPRING BREAK. T-Minus 1 work week…lunches, naps, getting the hair did, naps, lunches, and getting the hubs into high gear on the nursery.

Nesting and I'm 100% Sure My Daughter Will Be Like...

Dora Aurora Mi Amora has kicked me into high gear around this house! I have been nesting everywhere and it feels great. From what I hear, (Well, more of what my sisters and friends are pounding into my brain-which is appreciated) I won’t have much free time after she gets here, so with inspiration from The Amanda’s, I have started little by little. *Rounded up about 6 bags of donations for a charity garage sale* I know our pantry looks pretty empty, but it’s just us two at the moment, so we don’t go through much! (Yes, I feed my husband and even sometimes let him pick out special treats at the store. He is fine.)

If you have known me for any significant amount of time, you know I grew up in old dance costumes, performing shows on my parent’s fireplace, the front yard, grocery store aisle…just kind of wherever I was feeling it. (Most of you are asking yourself “Sarah, what exactly has changed?”) After being told my so many people to look up Sophia Grace and Rosie on YouTube, I sat down with the iPad and got to it! Well, 2 ½ hours later, my Mom and I are convinced Dora Aurora Mi Amora will be just like Sophia Grace, accent and all! (Love me some accents!) I even got the hubs to watch all of their videos and we were rolling. If you have not seen them, TAKE THE TIME. It will be the best laugh of your day-you might even pee a little! Not that I did or anything….well….I mean, whatever.

The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: 20 weeks-baby the size of a cantaloupe and length of banana
Total Weight Gain: Let’s get serious guys…eventually, I will not answer this question. Tried to weigh today after school, but the scale was down in the gym, too far for me to waddle.
Maternity Clothes: Still rocking the belly bands, 2 pair of jeans and cute tops! Zela made a special delivery on Sunday with a tub full of clothes-so exciting!
Stretch Marks: **see weight question** None yet, but this one will be out of rotation eventually
Sleep: Way better! Only up about 2-3 times per night and sleeping so good!
Memorable Moments: Kaley Sue’s 1st Birthday Party and Valentine’s Dinner at the mall in stretchy pants and a T-shirt.
Miss Anything: The option of having Wine, Frozen Margaritas and COLD Mexican Beer
Movement: Finally! I was getting a pedicure Saturday morning and while she was rubbing my feet/legs, I felt muscle spasms (popcorn) all over my belly! And I’ve had a “falling” feeling in my stomach about 3-4 times per day.
Food Cravings: STRAWBERRIES, Chips, Cottage Cheese (again!)
Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallway at school because it reminds me of being so sick the first 100 weeks of being pregnant
Gender: Baby GuL! Sonogram Friday!
Labor Signs: No, but halfway there…ohhhh, livin' on a prayer!
Symptoms: Stretching pains. Sleepy. Hungry.
Belly Button: In-ish
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: Annoyed. Spit Fire Mad. Then Sad.  Back to laughing. It’s so great…
Looking Forward To: Seeing her again on Friday and helping my sister plan her WEDDING! (Because after the wedding, she has to decorate the nursery, hehe!)

Sh*t Single Girls Say to Their Pregnant Friends...by Hot Auntie Courty

Allow me to introduce myself, since my reputation precedes me.  I am Auntie Courty, Dorah the Explorah’s most fun auntie, just ask Kaley, I tell the best stories.  I’m not going to lie to you, I am not the biggest fan of babies, however, Kaley Bear managed to win me over with one look, so I feel pretty confident of Baby Gul Nugget’s chances.  I am looking forward to many things about being an aunt again, such as teaching BGN “fun” words, how to be a sass, and introducing her at an inappropriately early age to the wonder that is Drop Dead Gorgeous.  But until the lovely Mi Amora makes her appearance this summer, this is what I am telling her mom on a daily basis:

#Sh*t Single Girls Say to Their Pregnant Friends:
·         Hey lets go get sushi!  Oh wait...
·         Umm, what does this do?
·         Umm, what is that?
·         I promise to like every picture of your baby you post on facebook
·         Hey lets go get wasted! Oh wait...
·         Your baby is so cute!
·         Can I hold her?
·         Wait, take her back.
·         Why is she crying?
·         Are you gonna get that…I mean her?
·         Is she sleeping yet?
·         I’m jealous of your maternity leave
·         I’m jealous of your maternity boobs
·         Thanks for the birth control reminder.
·         Is your baby going to look like me?
·         Congratulations on being 19 kids away from your own reality show
·         Tell me everything about pregnancy
·         No really, tell me, I want to know.
·         It can’t hurt that bad.
·         No, don’t tell me anything

Usual Update:
How Far Along: I’m 26, but don’t remind me I’ll be 27 in April.  But I still expect presents
Total Weight Gain: “still carrying a lil holiday weight”—Ross Gellar
Maternity Clothes: I have “drinking shirts” and “going out shirts”
Stretch Marks: add it to the list of things not to tell me about
Best Moment of the Week: GULS dinner with Sarah, Molls and Hillary where we ate our weight in rolls
Miss Anything: no, I do what I want, cause I’m not pregnant ;)
Movement: I danced in a bar last week
Food Cravings: french fries when I’m hung over
Anything that makes me sick/nauseas: hangovers
Gender: GUL
Labor Signs: god I hope not
Wedding rings on or off: #singlegirlproblems #whitegirlproblems
Happy or Moody: I love my life or life is hard.
Looking forward to: the birth of my newest niece gul, spoiling her and her mama like crazy, telling embarrassing stories at Baby Gul Nugget’s first birthday, first day of kindergarten, teaching her how to drive in a winstar van (cause is there another way?), high school graduation and just generally love loving her forever J

The BEST Little Ever, Hot Auntie Courty and God Bless America

Dora Aurora Mi Amora (Hers nickname so far-No, we aren’t naming our baby Dora; Yes, I meant to write “hers”) has invited Hot Auntie Courty to come guest blog! It will be up as it's own post ASAP.  Court and I met in 1st grade and have been laughing/cheering/drinking/gossiping ever since....what can we say except: soul mates.  *Left to right: Hillary, Court, Molls, Me*

BEST LITTLE EVER: My sweet Lindsey Kay came over Monday night for a seester-catch-up-session.

I love hearing about her glorious days in high school and remembering when stress consisted of prom, a quiz over the book we were reading in English, and boys boys boys! (I would LOVE for someone to give me a quiz over the books I read now!) Lindsey’s family moved into our cul-de-sac when I was in 3rd grade and she was still in her Mama’s belly! She is now a beautiful 17 year old and in the Fall, she will be leaving me and Dora Aurora Mi Amora to become a Baylor Bear down in Waco, Texas. I’m such a proud big sis! It NEVER hurts that more often that not, she shows up with goodies. Does this little lady know me or what?!

The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: rounding up 18 weeks-baby the size of a sweet potato/bell pepper (I love them both!)
Total Weight Gain: Have not weighed this week...let's stick with the 4 pounds from last week.
Maternity Clothes: World War III in the morning. It’s going to start being the same shirt on Mondays, Tuesdays, etc…my weekly uniforms! Marmee got me a couple of tops from Old Navy that will be heavy in the rotation.
Stretch Marks: Motion of the LOTION. Keep it clean people…
Sleep: Not too bad…I know you are shocked to find out I still pee about 4 times per night. Get fired up.
Best Moment This Week: Last week we went to visit a good friend of the family who watched all of us growing up and watched Eva her first year. Eva walked up to her, held her hand and sang “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.” I started crying. It was precious. After a baby shower on Sunday, she then made up a song for Baby Girl Nugget, which consists of 18 rounds of “Little Baby”, then “Don’t Cry!” So sweet….so long.
Miss Anything: Lunch meat, Sushi, Red Wine, Frozen Margaritas, COLD Mexican Beer
Movement: Weird stuff going on in there guys…
Food Cravings: STRAWBERRIES, E.L Fudges, PB & J with crunchy PB, Chips
Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallway at school, reheated food, meat
Gender: Girly Girl-Next sonogram is at the end of the month to confirm!
Labor Signs: Zip. Thank the good lord baby Jesus.
Symptoms: Still some stretching pains. Sleepy. Hungry.
Belly Button: In, but I told the hubs it’s looking like this thing is going to pop out sooner than later
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: EMOTIONAL. This chick cries at EVERYTHING. Songs, meetings, commercials, long walks on the beach, while I am laughing…
Looking Forward To: Valentime’s Day with the kid’s at school (I love to say it like that! Also, Libary!) and a slow start to getting Baby Girl’s room ready! Also, at the beginning of March, my Mom, sisters and I will live in a straight line down Highway 78-as it should be! Hehe!

*Random funny story: I was taking my weekly shower (if you know me, I am making progress) and the hubs comes in with the dog to chat. When we were done with our convo he says "Alright babe, good talk, now PLAY BALL." Hold up...at baseball games, what comes right before "Play Ball"..????  THE NATIONAL ANTHEM! In the shower I am an amazing singer (Hubs begs to differ), so I grab that shampoo bottle and hit it! My family and I are super patriotic, and I do remember a party or two with our crew starting off with this wonderful song. All in all, I wish we sang it everyday and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

It’s a….GIBBY-GUL!

Yes folks, you heard it right! Our doctor’s GUESS says GIRL....

My very own GibbyGul. Mi Amora. (Husband thought of that one!) My Aurora. (Auntie KK) We LOVE making up silly names and songs for the babies in this family, so these rhyme with her name which will be revealed later-even though most of our friends know already! On that fun note, we don’t call any of the babies by their birth names-how boring would that be?!

Now, some discussion for this week….talk amongst yourselves: (SNL, Mike Myers, Word.)

Lean Pockets, Strawberries and E.L. Fudges: Holla. My Monday night dinner consisted of: 2 Lean Pockets (NOT back to back!), a container of strawberries and 4 E.L Fudge cookies. So here comes that baby prego weight!

Making My House Smell Better: Found an AMAZING blog on Pinterest (linked below) and now obsessed with making all of my own cleaning supplies and laundry detergent. I got all of the ingredients on Amazon-so easy and my house smells AHH-MAH-ZING.

The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: 17 weeks-baby girl the size of an onion
Total Weight Gain: 4 pounds. Let me clarify: the SAME 4 pounds as last week. When I stepped on the scale at the doctor's office and it said “Why Sarah Prego-Gul, only 4 pounds since your last appointment”, Chase’s comment was “Whoa! Another 4 pounds!” No my DARLING, THE SAME 4 pounds as last week. So 4 pounds in 4 weeks. DEAR. (Feel free to sub some words for what you think I was really saying in my head.)
Maternity Clothes: Still using the belly-band for pants and got some cute shirts over the weekend! Can’t wait for Spring dresses, skirts, and shorts! Hmmm...note to self: figure out how to shave your legs soon.
Stretch Marks: LOTS-O-LOTION everywhere.
Sleep: On a pretty good schedule besides going to the bathroom every couple of hours. I have now cut myself off around 5:30pm, which sucks because I am so thirsty, but Mama needs some SLEEP.
Best Moment This Week: Call me CRAZY-I’ve been making my own cleaning supplies! Our house finally smells good again! Awesome blog with all of the recipes: http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/
**And of course finding out Baby G Nugget is (most likely) a GIRL.
Miss Anything: Lunch meat, Sushi, Red Wine, Margaritas, COLD Mexican Beer

Movement: Nothing that I can feel yet…come on sista! Give Mama some love!
Food Cravings: Hot pockets, E.L Fudges, Cold Fruit, PB & J with crunchy PB, Chili’s Queso (And we all see how that turned out-double date dinner night with Christi and Aaron!), random things on random days…

Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallways at school, reheated food, the dog smell of our bedroom (working on that with all my new cleaning supplies)
Gender: Girly Girl, so far!
Labor Signs: Hmmm…laundry, cleaning the bathrooms, vacuuming…does that count?
Symptoms: Still some stretching pains all over the place (NIV, right Emmy?!), Sleepy. Prego Brain.
Belly Button: In
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: Happy/Lazy/Moody/Lazy…take your pick.
Looking Forward To: Girl’s Dinner Friday, Guest blogs from Aunt Molly and Courty (Next blog!) and getting this GibbyGul’s room put together!
