Nesting and I'm 100% Sure My Daughter Will Be Like...

Dora Aurora Mi Amora has kicked me into high gear around this house! I have been nesting everywhere and it feels great. From what I hear, (Well, more of what my sisters and friends are pounding into my brain-which is appreciated) I won’t have much free time after she gets here, so with inspiration from The Amanda’s, I have started little by little. *Rounded up about 6 bags of donations for a charity garage sale* I know our pantry looks pretty empty, but it’s just us two at the moment, so we don’t go through much! (Yes, I feed my husband and even sometimes let him pick out special treats at the store. He is fine.)

If you have known me for any significant amount of time, you know I grew up in old dance costumes, performing shows on my parent’s fireplace, the front yard, grocery store aisle…just kind of wherever I was feeling it. (Most of you are asking yourself “Sarah, what exactly has changed?”) After being told my so many people to look up Sophia Grace and Rosie on YouTube, I sat down with the iPad and got to it! Well, 2 ½ hours later, my Mom and I are convinced Dora Aurora Mi Amora will be just like Sophia Grace, accent and all! (Love me some accents!) I even got the hubs to watch all of their videos and we were rolling. If you have not seen them, TAKE THE TIME. It will be the best laugh of your day-you might even pee a little! Not that I did or anything….well….I mean, whatever.

The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: 20 weeks-baby the size of a cantaloupe and length of banana
Total Weight Gain: Let’s get serious guys…eventually, I will not answer this question. Tried to weigh today after school, but the scale was down in the gym, too far for me to waddle.
Maternity Clothes: Still rocking the belly bands, 2 pair of jeans and cute tops! Zela made a special delivery on Sunday with a tub full of clothes-so exciting!
Stretch Marks: **see weight question** None yet, but this one will be out of rotation eventually
Sleep: Way better! Only up about 2-3 times per night and sleeping so good!
Memorable Moments: Kaley Sue’s 1st Birthday Party and Valentine’s Dinner at the mall in stretchy pants and a T-shirt.
Miss Anything: The option of having Wine, Frozen Margaritas and COLD Mexican Beer
Movement: Finally! I was getting a pedicure Saturday morning and while she was rubbing my feet/legs, I felt muscle spasms (popcorn) all over my belly! And I’ve had a “falling” feeling in my stomach about 3-4 times per day.
Food Cravings: STRAWBERRIES, Chips, Cottage Cheese (again!)
Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallway at school because it reminds me of being so sick the first 100 weeks of being pregnant
Gender: Baby GuL! Sonogram Friday!
Labor Signs: No, but halfway there…ohhhh, livin' on a prayer!
Symptoms: Stretching pains. Sleepy. Hungry.
Belly Button: In-ish
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: Annoyed. Spit Fire Mad. Then Sad.  Back to laughing. It’s so great…
Looking Forward To: Seeing her again on Friday and helping my sister plan her WEDDING! (Because after the wedding, she has to decorate the nursery, hehe!)

Sh*t Single Girls Say to Their Pregnant Friends...by Hot Auntie Courty

Allow me to introduce myself, since my reputation precedes me.  I am Auntie Courty, Dorah the Explorah’s most fun auntie, just ask Kaley, I tell the best stories.  I’m not going to lie to you, I am not the biggest fan of babies, however, Kaley Bear managed to win me over with one look, so I feel pretty confident of Baby Gul Nugget’s chances.  I am looking forward to many things about being an aunt again, such as teaching BGN “fun” words, how to be a sass, and introducing her at an inappropriately early age to the wonder that is Drop Dead Gorgeous.  But until the lovely Mi Amora makes her appearance this summer, this is what I am telling her mom on a daily basis:

#Sh*t Single Girls Say to Their Pregnant Friends:
·         Hey lets go get sushi!  Oh wait...
·         Umm, what does this do?
·         Umm, what is that?
·         I promise to like every picture of your baby you post on facebook
·         Hey lets go get wasted! Oh wait...
·         Your baby is so cute!
·         Can I hold her?
·         Wait, take her back.
·         Why is she crying?
·         Are you gonna get that…I mean her?
·         Is she sleeping yet?
·         I’m jealous of your maternity leave
·         I’m jealous of your maternity boobs
·         Thanks for the birth control reminder.
·         Is your baby going to look like me?
·         Congratulations on being 19 kids away from your own reality show
·         Tell me everything about pregnancy
·         No really, tell me, I want to know.
·         It can’t hurt that bad.
·         No, don’t tell me anything

Usual Update:
How Far Along: I’m 26, but don’t remind me I’ll be 27 in April.  But I still expect presents
Total Weight Gain: “still carrying a lil holiday weight”—Ross Gellar
Maternity Clothes: I have “drinking shirts” and “going out shirts”
Stretch Marks: add it to the list of things not to tell me about
Best Moment of the Week: GULS dinner with Sarah, Molls and Hillary where we ate our weight in rolls
Miss Anything: no, I do what I want, cause I’m not pregnant ;)
Movement: I danced in a bar last week
Food Cravings: french fries when I’m hung over
Anything that makes me sick/nauseas: hangovers
Gender: GUL
Labor Signs: god I hope not
Wedding rings on or off: #singlegirlproblems #whitegirlproblems
Happy or Moody: I love my life or life is hard.
Looking forward to: the birth of my newest niece gul, spoiling her and her mama like crazy, telling embarrassing stories at Baby Gul Nugget’s first birthday, first day of kindergarten, teaching her how to drive in a winstar van (cause is there another way?), high school graduation and just generally love loving her forever J

The BEST Little Ever, Hot Auntie Courty and God Bless America

Dora Aurora Mi Amora (Hers nickname so far-No, we aren’t naming our baby Dora; Yes, I meant to write “hers”) has invited Hot Auntie Courty to come guest blog! It will be up as it's own post ASAP.  Court and I met in 1st grade and have been laughing/cheering/drinking/gossiping ever since....what can we say except: soul mates.  *Left to right: Hillary, Court, Molls, Me*

BEST LITTLE EVER: My sweet Lindsey Kay came over Monday night for a seester-catch-up-session.

I love hearing about her glorious days in high school and remembering when stress consisted of prom, a quiz over the book we were reading in English, and boys boys boys! (I would LOVE for someone to give me a quiz over the books I read now!) Lindsey’s family moved into our cul-de-sac when I was in 3rd grade and she was still in her Mama’s belly! She is now a beautiful 17 year old and in the Fall, she will be leaving me and Dora Aurora Mi Amora to become a Baylor Bear down in Waco, Texas. I’m such a proud big sis! It NEVER hurts that more often that not, she shows up with goodies. Does this little lady know me or what?!

The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: rounding up 18 weeks-baby the size of a sweet potato/bell pepper (I love them both!)
Total Weight Gain: Have not weighed this week...let's stick with the 4 pounds from last week.
Maternity Clothes: World War III in the morning. It’s going to start being the same shirt on Mondays, Tuesdays, etc…my weekly uniforms! Marmee got me a couple of tops from Old Navy that will be heavy in the rotation.
Stretch Marks: Motion of the LOTION. Keep it clean people…
Sleep: Not too bad…I know you are shocked to find out I still pee about 4 times per night. Get fired up.
Best Moment This Week: Last week we went to visit a good friend of the family who watched all of us growing up and watched Eva her first year. Eva walked up to her, held her hand and sang “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.” I started crying. It was precious. After a baby shower on Sunday, she then made up a song for Baby Girl Nugget, which consists of 18 rounds of “Little Baby”, then “Don’t Cry!” So sweet….so long.
Miss Anything: Lunch meat, Sushi, Red Wine, Frozen Margaritas, COLD Mexican Beer
Movement: Weird stuff going on in there guys…
Food Cravings: STRAWBERRIES, E.L Fudges, PB & J with crunchy PB, Chips
Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallway at school, reheated food, meat
Gender: Girly Girl-Next sonogram is at the end of the month to confirm!
Labor Signs: Zip. Thank the good lord baby Jesus.
Symptoms: Still some stretching pains. Sleepy. Hungry.
Belly Button: In, but I told the hubs it’s looking like this thing is going to pop out sooner than later
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: EMOTIONAL. This chick cries at EVERYTHING. Songs, meetings, commercials, long walks on the beach, while I am laughing…
Looking Forward To: Valentime’s Day with the kid’s at school (I love to say it like that! Also, Libary!) and a slow start to getting Baby Girl’s room ready! Also, at the beginning of March, my Mom, sisters and I will live in a straight line down Highway 78-as it should be! Hehe!

*Random funny story: I was taking my weekly shower (if you know me, I am making progress) and the hubs comes in with the dog to chat. When we were done with our convo he says "Alright babe, good talk, now PLAY BALL." Hold up...at baseball games, what comes right before "Play Ball"..????  THE NATIONAL ANTHEM! In the shower I am an amazing singer (Hubs begs to differ), so I grab that shampoo bottle and hit it! My family and I are super patriotic, and I do remember a party or two with our crew starting off with this wonderful song. All in all, I wish we sang it everyday and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

It’s a….GIBBY-GUL!

Yes folks, you heard it right! Our doctor’s GUESS says GIRL....

My very own GibbyGul. Mi Amora. (Husband thought of that one!) My Aurora. (Auntie KK) We LOVE making up silly names and songs for the babies in this family, so these rhyme with her name which will be revealed later-even though most of our friends know already! On that fun note, we don’t call any of the babies by their birth names-how boring would that be?!

Now, some discussion for this week….talk amongst yourselves: (SNL, Mike Myers, Word.)

Lean Pockets, Strawberries and E.L. Fudges: Holla. My Monday night dinner consisted of: 2 Lean Pockets (NOT back to back!), a container of strawberries and 4 E.L Fudge cookies. So here comes that baby prego weight!

Making My House Smell Better: Found an AMAZING blog on Pinterest (linked below) and now obsessed with making all of my own cleaning supplies and laundry detergent. I got all of the ingredients on Amazon-so easy and my house smells AHH-MAH-ZING.

The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: 17 weeks-baby girl the size of an onion
Total Weight Gain: 4 pounds. Let me clarify: the SAME 4 pounds as last week. When I stepped on the scale at the doctor's office and it said “Why Sarah Prego-Gul, only 4 pounds since your last appointment”, Chase’s comment was “Whoa! Another 4 pounds!” No my DARLING, THE SAME 4 pounds as last week. So 4 pounds in 4 weeks. DEAR. (Feel free to sub some words for what you think I was really saying in my head.)
Maternity Clothes: Still using the belly-band for pants and got some cute shirts over the weekend! Can’t wait for Spring dresses, skirts, and shorts! Hmmm...note to self: figure out how to shave your legs soon.
Stretch Marks: LOTS-O-LOTION everywhere.
Sleep: On a pretty good schedule besides going to the bathroom every couple of hours. I have now cut myself off around 5:30pm, which sucks because I am so thirsty, but Mama needs some SLEEP.
Best Moment This Week: Call me CRAZY-I’ve been making my own cleaning supplies! Our house finally smells good again! Awesome blog with all of the recipes: http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/
**And of course finding out Baby G Nugget is (most likely) a GIRL.
Miss Anything: Lunch meat, Sushi, Red Wine, Margaritas, COLD Mexican Beer

Movement: Nothing that I can feel yet…come on sista! Give Mama some love!
Food Cravings: Hot pockets, E.L Fudges, Cold Fruit, PB & J with crunchy PB, Chili’s Queso (And we all see how that turned out-double date dinner night with Christi and Aaron!), random things on random days…

Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallways at school, reheated food, the dog smell of our bedroom (working on that with all my new cleaning supplies)
Gender: Girly Girl, so far!
Labor Signs: Hmmm…laundry, cleaning the bathrooms, vacuuming…does that count?
Symptoms: Still some stretching pains all over the place (NIV, right Emmy?!), Sleepy. Prego Brain.
Belly Button: In
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: Happy/Lazy/Moody/Lazy…take your pick.
Looking Forward To: Girl’s Dinner Friday, Guest blogs from Aunt Molly and Courty (Next blog!) and getting this GibbyGul’s room put together!

My Bump…My Bump, My Bump, My Bump!

(Oh come on, I had to!)

Drumroll please… Nugget was the size of an apple this week! Anxiously waiting for feeling some sort of movement. I have been “thinking” I feel something, but the lovely feeling ends up as gas. (Nothing new to our household.)

Now, onto the goods for this week….

Cottage Cheese: ( Yes, still!) Oh. My. Goodness. Tuesday afternoon for my pre-dinner snack, I sucked down a corn dog, then saw the BRAND NEW container of cottage cheese in the fridge. Of course it was lit up like an angel and everything else around it was dark. I thought, "Eh, throw a little dairy in there to balance out my corn dog." Less than 20 minutes later, I am calling the husband in to physically remove the cottage cheese from my hands. "Why?" You must be wondering….because this chick ATE HALF THE CONTAINER-then I polished it off Wednesday after school. Yup, JEALOUS?! ( love Amy Poehler in this SNL skit.)

*On a side note about my crazy snacking after school: I eat lunch at school at 10:50am and a small snack at around 1:45pm, so by the time I get home from school around 4:15ish, my tummy is ready to PAARRTTAAYYY, with the best of them…and I'm gonna go down to the river* (Please see scene from Bridesmaids. I watched it 3 times last weekend.)

The Usual Prego Update:

How Far Along: Almost 16 weeks-baby the size of an apple
Total Weight Gain: About 4 pounds (used the fancy scale in the clinic at school with some of the office staff standing right behind me-it was lovely)
Maternity Clothes: I look pregnant. Clothes are becoming my main battle in the morning because I’m not quite prego enough for some of the maternity but starting to bust out of my regular tops. Going to do some shopping soon for some shirts to wear to school, but my belly band is keeping me in all of my pre-prego pants which is awesome.
Stretch Marks: All I can say is been doing LOTS-O-LOTION on the belly!
Sleep: On a pretty good schedule besides going to the bathroom every couple of hours. (SIX times a night to be exact-and I cut off all liquid at about 7:45pm-Just call me a Golden Girl)
Best Moment This Week: This BELLY! I love putting my hands on it and asking it questions like “Do you like this song?”

*Excuse the 16-year-old-Facebook-take-your-own-picture-in-the-bathroom-mirror, the Hubby was working late and I had to show this thing off!*

Also, ADDICTED to some blogs from a TV show on WE: Texas Multi-Mamas. I am catching up on Casey and Suz’s blogs daily. It’s my crack of the week, especially when Chase is working late.
Miss Anything: Lunch meat, Sushi, Red Wine, Frozen Margaritas
Movement: Nothing that I can feel, but hopefully within the next couple of weeks.
Food Cravings: cottage cheese, PB & J (hubby makes the best, besides my Mom of course!), random things on random days…
Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallway at school, reheated food, the dog smell of our couch and bedroom (working on that)
Gender: It’s a boy. Or a girl.
Labor Signs: None, but still waiting on that epidural or some giggle juice.
Symptoms: Still some stretching pains in some interesting areas, but nothing too bad. Always Sleepy. I get full really fast and now staying that way until someone could just roll me around. I feel like I have a sumo wrestling suit on after I eat.
Belly Button: In
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: Mostly happy except when the kids go crazy and I say “Don’t make me go all crazy-prego-Mrs. Gibson on y’all” and it seems to work well. *They are very good during my 2-3 restroom breaks per class period*
Looking Forward To: Guest blogs from Aunt Molly and Courty (coming up guls!) and we find out the gender FRIDAY! Ahhhh!

Clothes, Cucumbers and Cottage Cheese. OH MY!

Our little nugget is busy growing away! He/She is the size of a lemon this week and doing all sorts of crazy stuff in there! *Putting a belly picture sometime this week*

Now, onto my topics of discussion for this week….

Clothes: Holy Bologna! (Gosh, I miss bologna!) My closet has filled up FAST with maternity clothes! I put a bow around all of them because what an AMAZING gift! I am seriously so lucky to have friends who got knocked up before me and are cute dressers. Molly, Kellie and Steph have given me a ton and I bought a few little things for myself that I can wear into the Spring and post-nugget. Thanks dolls!

Cucumbers: Not to get too graphic for you dirty minds out there, but I’ve eaten 2 entire cucumbers in 2 days. BAM-cleared it! Dipping them in whipped cream cheese with some dill seasoning is my “crack of the week.” (hehe!) Also, been making cucumber sandwiches for lunch, which are helping me get over my “I miss lunch meat so bad and Chase gets to have 2 turkey sandwiches everyday and I freaking hate/love him” mood. I bought 3 more at the store last night. I’m sure next week they will make me sick, but as of now, love them like cake. Hmmmm cake….

Cottage Cheese: Oh. My. Goodness. Cottage doubles (with peaches) are another obsession of the week. *See picture somewhere* I bought 4 on Sunday thinking I would spread them out all week. HA. JOKE. I ate one after the store on Sunday, we both wanted them in our lunches Monday, and I ate the last one for my “pre-dinner snack” Monday afternoon. So, another trip to the store it is. The grocery store I went to didn’t have the exact pre-packaged “cottage doubles” so I bought 2 big containers of cottage cheese and 4 cans of peaches. Not as good…but gets the job done. *And yes, I checked the label and the cheese IS pasteurized, so don’t worry!*

Done with the novel, now the usual prego update:

How Far Along: 14 ½ weeks-baby the size of a lemon
Total Weight Gain: I’ll have to get back to you on that one! I’m sure it’s something now that I like food again!
Maternity Clothes: The same jeans, belly band and some shirts that I just bought in a bigger size. Breaking into what I got from the girls and very excited about looking “pregnant” and not “Oh, Sarah ate a big burrito for lunch and downed it with a 6 pack!”
Stretch Marks: Keeping my eyes out! Still very itchy so trying to “rub” instead of actually scratch and LOTS-O-LOTION on the belly!
Sleep: On a pretty good schedule besides going to the bathroom every couple of hours. (Which isn’t very different than pre-prego)
Best Moment This Week: Laughing SO MUCH at GULS Christmas with Molly, Court and Hillary. Milk for your coffee anyone?! Molly has also turned me on to Texas Multi-Mamas on WE TV. Found an amazing blog by Suz! Thanks Molls!
Miss Anything: Lunch meat, Sushi, Red Wine, Frozen Margaritas… the list could go on for days…
Movement: Nada. Hopefully within the next month or so!
Food Cravings: see above
Anything making me sick or nauseas: the smell of our hallway at work, reheated food, being over-tired or up too late
Gender: Still debating. We ask the dog and he barks at both. Go figure.
Labor Signs: None, but I wouldn’t mind an epidural for the next 6 months.
Symptoms: Still some stretching pains but nothing too bad, Sleepy (I miss my holiday naps!), I get full really fast and hungry not long after being so full-waking up around 4am and my stomach is growling!
Belly Button: In
Wedding Rings: On
Happy or Moody: Spur of the moment laughing, then crying, then just mad, circle back to laughing. This should get VERY interesting for the hubby.
Looking Forward To: Finding out the gender, modeling all of my cute maternity clothes, and an upcoming guest blog by my GUL Molly, who has a precious almost 11 month old baby girl, The K Bear.

Life is Peachy

After 13 (well, a little less than that) LONG weeks of keeping quiet...we are excited to announce Baby Gibson is on the way! Our little "nugget" will be here in early July, right around my birthday! Chase said that will be an expensive holiday, but we are worth it. (Duh.)

I'm not on Facebook, and after keeping up with some good "mommy" blogs through Pinterest, I decided to give it a try.

So far, so good.

Now for the prego update....

How far along: 13 weeks (baby the size of a PEACH)
Total Weight Gain: Nothing yet! Hehe, I know! BUT, I was SO SO SO SICK my 5th week up until literally last night, so food has not been my friend. A lot of plain bread, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Seltzer, Soda Water, and lemonade.
Maternity Clothes: A pair of jeans (thanks Steph and Zela!), and my belly band.
Stretch Marks: Not yet but itchy as all get out....thought I had one and sent the hubby down to look. That ended with a bump on each of our heads. Not the best timing.
Sleep: It's all I want to do besides pee and drink Sprite while watching Lifetime.
Best Moment this Week: Hearing the heartbeat again and seeing my growing belly! Also, NO hangover on New Year's Day, even though I spent it in bed watching 2 Lifetime movies and a Designing Women marathon.
Miss Anything: lunch meat (cold!), Red Wine (which I hated before nugget came along!) and scheduling my meals whenever I want. Now they are scheduled around my nausea meds.
Movement: I can't feel anything yet, but while they were doing my Ultrasound for the heartbeat, nugget gave a litte kick!
Food Cravings: Cold fruit, Chocolate Milk, Cereal
Anything making me sick or nauseas: Pretty much everything...giving Nugget pep talks everyday that it's about time to be over it, but does Nugget listen? Nope. Preview of what's to come.
Gender: We find out January 27th. Everyone says boy. Or girl. I'm down with either!
Labor Signs: Nope...got some baking to do before then ;)
Symptoms: Some stretching pains in my belly, constant trips to the bathroom (which I did pre-prego anyway), nausea (mostly at night now), and I AM TIRED ALL THE TIME.
Belly Button: still in (pre-preggers)
Wedding Rings: still on
Happy or Moody: Seriously, changes within a second. But then I remind myself I am cooking a Nugget in there and it melts my heart, so happy until more nausea comes my way.
Looking Forward To: January 27th so Mama can start SHOPPING.
